Austria’s First Address for Wood Processing Expertise
Kuchl (Tennengau) wants to achieve international recognition in the coming years as a “Timber Town” and Expertise Center for the wood industry. Above all, the training in all sectors of wood processing technology should contribute greatly to this goal. To implement the numerous ideas, from wood festivals to conventions, Kuchl has engaged an ambassador for the wood industry with Kurt Schloffer. Their greatest ambition currently, is a four or five-star hotel in Kuchl built entirely from wood.

Trumps for Hallein
A new start. The Hallein paper factory deserves another chance. That’s what the Finnish company wants to prove to the experts and politicians. Whichever interested party comes on board, „we try to offer the best general conditions”, says branch expert and business consultant Kurt Schloffer. For him, virgin fiber cardboard instead of fine paper is the most economically reliable for a solution that could span approximately 15 years. „We can facilitate the conversion”. After the 70 to 80 million Euro conversion, the first cartons could be produced by the end of 2010 and until then, niche products can be manufactured as a temporary solution.
